Choose a subwoofer for your RD500/1
This mono amplifier powers a separate passive subwoofer. It does not include a subwoofer, enclosure, wiring kit or factory-radio interface. The options below are sold separately.
- One raw-driver bass setup: pair it with one JL Audio 10W3v3-2, a 2-ohm single-voice-coil driver rated for 500 W continuous power. The RD500/1 provides 500 W RMS into 2 ohms at 14.4 V. Use the correct enclosure and set gain and low-pass filtering for the driver and installation.
- Check impedance before adding drivers: a 4-ohm load receives 250 W RMS at 14.4 V. Two 2-ohm drivers in parallel create a 1-ohm load, which is below this amplifier's 2-ohm minimum. Its two output-terminal pairs are internally paralleled, not two independent amplifier channels.
- Add full-range sound separately: C3-650 speakers with an RD400/4 speaker amplifier provide a separate speaker-side path. Keep suitable existing speakers if you only need more bass; a speaker upgrade is optional.
Plan at least 4-AWG copper power and ground wiring and the specified 50-amp fuse for a single RD500/1 installation. A shared multi-amplifier supply requires a correctly sized main feed and fused distribution; do not select a kit from total advertised watts alone. Confirm whether the factory audio system needs an interface or signal integration.
Check the Vehicle Fit Guide or ask MCOR to confirm your bass setup.
Part Number 010-03108-00
Monoblock Class D Subwoofer Amplifier, 500 W x 1 @ 2 Ω / 250 W x 1 @ 4 Ω - 14.4V
Born to produce a whopping 500 watts into 2 ohms (14.4V, 1% THD), the RD500/1 amplifier was engineered to generate tons of pure subwoofer bliss from a sleek, ultra-compact chassis. The secret behind its power proficiency is our proprietary NexD™ switching technology, which delivers large amounts of power output with precise efficiency and ultra-low distortion.
For your convenience, the RD500/1’s controls are located on top of the amplifier, beneath a protective cover, with all connections found along one side of its chassis. Signal processing features include a 12 dB / octave low-pass filter, with continuously variable frequency selection from 50-500 Hz, and a variable bass boost EQ. Dual-range, differential-balanced inputs are also on-hand, capable of accepting most input voltage levels. Automatic turn-on capability (via signal sensing or DC-offset sensing) is standard, along with a set of preamp outputs so you can easily pass signals to another amplifier.
The RD500/1 is also equipped with an onboard LED-clipping indicator. This all-new, innovative feature lets you easily set your amplifier’s input sensitivity setting, quickly and accurately, with no special equipment needed. The RD500/1 features a durable, black powder-coated finish and a top-mounted, dual-color LED light strip that reports the overall status and condition. With the addition of an RBC-1 remote level control (sold separately), you can control the subwoofer output directly from the driver’s seat.
