JL Audio JD700/5 combines four full-range channels and one subwoofer channel in one amplifier. At 14.4 V and 2 ohms, it supplies 100 W RMS × 4 plus 300 W RMS × 1: 700 W combined RMS. At 4 ohms, output is 75 W × 4 plus 180 W × 1. Match each speaker and the subwoofer to the output available at their actual load.
Plan your system before ordering
- Load limits: 2 ohms minimum per unbridged channel; 4 ohms for a bridged full-range channel pair. Bridging uses two channels and reduces the number of independent speaker outputs.
- Power protection: use a 60 A inline fuse or circuit breaker and correctly sized OFC or tinned-copper power/ground wiring. The manual specifies 4 AWG for most installations; longer or higher-current shared runs may need larger wire.
- Space: 11.86 × 7.50 × 2.10 inches (301 × 190 × 53 mm), W×D×H, plus ventilation and cable clearance. Install in a dry location.
- Separate items: speakers, subwoofer/enclosure, installation wiring, required radio interface and optional RBC-1 controller are not included with the amplifier.
